Special Edition Of Samsung NC10 Netbook
While Samsung N110 was said to be the replacement for Samsung NC10, it looks like the Samsung NC10 is not going to be phased out in the near future. The reason we say this is because a few special edition of Samsung NC10 has been spotted recently.

Check out the Agnes B. Edition NC10 netbook which features a stylish lid signed by the designer, Agnes b., and featuring a lizard. This edition of NC10 is only available in France.

And in UK, theres another special edition of Samsung NC10 with floral pattern design on the lid. Its currently available on UK retrailer, John Lewis, for £329.

Toshiba Satellite M505 S4940

Toshiba Satellite M505-S4940 All-Purpose Laptop
Toshiba knows a thing or two about squeezing a lot into a little laptop. Has the company succeeded with this student-friendly, $650 (as of 8/11/09) machine? Well, though the M505-S4940 cuts a corner (an obstructed HDMI-out) or two (an integrated GPU, a low-rent CPU), it is a decent deal with some flashy looks--and uninspiring guts.
While its a little thick, this all-purpose laptop is luggable enough (13.5 by 9.1 by 1.5 inches and about 5.4 pounds) for the scholar on the go. One bonus: Itll get a couple of glances from people in the local coffee shop. Our test unit sported a snazzy, streaky techno pattern painted into the glossy finish, as well as a few LED highlights around the keyboard that offered a subtle glow. The splashy design might distract some people enough that they forget to ask what CPU this hot rod has.

HP Mini 311 1000NR

HP Mini 311-1000NR Netbook
Commuting to work this morning, I was playing Left 4 Dead on HPs Mini 311-1000NR--thats right, on a netbook. Few netbooks are up to that task, and HP is first to market with an nVidia Ion-based portable. The 3.22-pound, 11.4-by-8.0-by-1.2-inch Mini 311-1000NR has a reasonable amount of power and a $399 asking price. (Our review unit, as configured, sells for $450 as of October 5, 2009.)
Whats Ion? If youve somehow missed the reams of stories Ive already written about the Ion platform, heres the executive summary: For netbooks or nettops, it marries an Intel Atom CPU (in this case, the 1.66GHz N280) to an nVidia Ion LE GPU, yielding more-powerful, affordable machines that can output high-def video and even allow you to play some games.
Also fueling this machine are 1GB of RAM and a 160GB 5400-rpm hard drive--standard-issue netbook guts. In basic PC WorldBench 6 tests, it earns a 37 -- fairly average and expected. What we found in our standard 3D gaming tests wasnt quite as thrilling as originally hoped: 16 frames per second in Enemy Territory: Quake Wars at 1024 by 768 pixels (at normal settings).

Tips on Windows XP

Selecting [quick launch toolbar]
For frequently used applications, you should consider placing a shortcut icon on the [quick launch toolbar] located to the right of the [start]. This way you can access it with a single click. For applications that want to access in a single click, you just need to drag and put a shortcut to the application on the [toolbar quick lauch]. To remove a shortcut placed by programs that are not allowed, you just need to right click on an icon on the [quick launch toolbar] and select [delete.]
Sort All Programs on the [Start] menu
If you feel your program folders rather scattered, you can arrange them in alphabetical order. The way is to click [start]> [All Programs]> and [right-click] on any folder or program that is there and select [sort by name]. Do the same on the other folders that want sorted.
Use the combination to Strike
if you make a mistake, you can resign the error. You probably know about the function [undo] this by going to the menu [edit] and click [undo]. You can also use a combination [Ctrl] + [Z] for faster service. For example, if they want to cancel the error change the file name in the window [Windows Explorer]. (Make sure you do not use the combination [Ctrl] + [Z] on the other functions).
"Minimize" right window has been opened
Fastest technique to shrink all the windows (on the desktop) is opened by pressing [Windows] (there is a Windows logo on it) and then press the [M]. Simple instructions, the [Windows] + [M].
Closing Window And Applications Simultaneously
You can close some windows and applications open at once and hold down the [Ctrl] and then select the window or application on the [Taskbar]. Next, right click on your choice above and select [Close Group].
Getting Through Network Information by ipconfig Utility
Click the [Start]> [Run] and type "cmd." On display "prompt" that appears, type "ipconfig" (without the opening words). It will show basic information such as IP address, subnet mask, and gateway. For additional information such as DHCP and DNS server, type "ipconfig-all" or "ipconfig / all". It will display a more detailed network information.
Placing Task Manager Permanently In The "system tray" (at the side of the clock)
To open Task Manager, you can press the key combination [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [Esc], or by clicking on the combination Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Del], and next click on the Task Manager. But, if you wish to place the Task Manager on a permanent basis in the "system tray", there are 2 ways but I only give one way here. To do that, go to the System32 Directory and create a shortcut for the file taskmgr.exe. Then cut (cut) and paste (paste) shortcut into the folder [Startup] (go to the menu [Start]> [All Programs]> [Startup]. Right click on the [Startup] and click [Open]. Then paste shortcut taskmgr.exe earlier here). Next, right-click the icon in the folder taskmgr.exe [Startup] above and click [Properties]. Under option [Run], please select [Minimized] - this will minimize the Task Manager window.

HP Mini 2140 Review Roundup
The HP Mini 2140 Notebook PC is designed to cater to the mobile professional. This business-grade netbook features a 10.1-inch screen, a remarkably large keyboard, a high capacity hard drive, and plenty of impressive features.

Heres the rundown of the HP Mini 2140 specs:
Now lets look at some reviews done by the professionals on the HP Mini 2140:

Laptop Magazine:
NotebookReview:
Conclusion: HP Mini 2140 is a near perfect mini laptop after HP resolve the low resolution issue. The only reason that might set you back from buying this top class mini laptop is the higher price tag compare to other netbooks on the market.. but its still a highly recommended netbook as you will get what you pay for.

Heres the rundown of the HP Mini 2140 specs:
- 10.1-inch diagonal HP Illumi-Lite LED (available in SD 1024 x 576 or HD 1366 x 768)
- Intel Atom N270 Processor 1.60GHz
- 1 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
- 160 GB 5400 rpm SATA
- Mobile IntelR GMA 950 Graphics
- Choice of 3-cell or 6-cell battery
- Genuine WindowsR XP Home
Now lets look at some reviews done by the professionals on the HP Mini 2140:

Laptop Magazine:
"The $529 HP Mini 2140 (starting at $499) rises above the majority of the netbook competition by incorporating a well-designed keyboard, a durable design, and more than seven hours of battery life. Some may prefer the $499 Samsung NC10 (also a LAPTOP Editors’ Choice winner). It’s $30 less than the similarly configured HP Mini 2140, and its six-cell battery doesn’t bulge from the bottom of the chassis like the Mini 2140. But the extra cash buys a more durable case and more endurance." (full review)
NotebookReview:
"The HP Mini 2140 proves HP can make a serious netbook for business professionals and students alike. Unfortunately for HP, the amazing design and solid range of features are diminished by a low-resolution screen. That said, there is a silver lining to this stormy cloud. HP informs us that the 2140 will be offered with a higher resolution screen (1366 x 768) later in 2009 for a modest price increase, and were glad to hear that.
As it stands now, if youre willing to put up with the lower resolution screen the Mini 2140 is probably the best netbook on the market. However, if youre willing to wait for HP to offer a higher resolution screen later this year you will be even happier." (full review)
