Record Computer Keystrokes Secretly with Keylogger

Before we get into the nitty gritty of what the keylogger can do, it is important to understand what exactly it does. Simply put, a keylogger is a specialized hardware that is fitted to a software programme, a keyboard cable or a keyboard. This application is used to record every keystroke made via the keyboard. It can be extremely handy for parents who want to track their children’s online activities or an employer who wished to keep a tab on an office worker.  Keylogger is also widely used by spy agencies and law enforcement organizations to access sensitive data and collect evidence.

However, like all good things in life, this programme, too, is susceptible to misuse. For instance, a hacker can use the keylogger and illegally retrieve crucial data such as personal identity information, credit card numbers, bank account details, login names and passwords. So, on the flip side, keylogging can pose a serious threat to computer users by leading to invasion of privacy, data theft and fraud. Malicious keylogging software can also infect computers via malware, spyware, viruses and the Trojan horse.

If you suspect that someone is using keylogger to retrieve vital information, opt for a good anti-spyware and anti-virus programme and also activate the firewall. Be careful when you open e-mail attachments, surf mainstream websites or download anything from the Internet. You can also get your personal computer checked by a professional to avoid such surreptitious attacks.

Key features
– Logs keystrokes and is case sensitive
– Works both in hidden and standard modes
– Registers disk changes, Internet connections, websites visited and starup/shutdown
– Watches clipboard content
– Record all print activities
– Creates screenshots quickly
– Generally stores all information in encrypted log file
– Logs can be password protected
– Can create the report in html and text format and then send it via e-mail
– Resistant to antivirus software
– Quick installation, easy usage and flexible configuration system

Who will benefit

– System administrators who keep a tab on all office computers.
– CEOs/managers who want to monitor office work.
– Parents who want to supervise their children’s online/offline activities
– Cyber cafĂ© owners who want to scan what customers are doing.
– Anyone else who wants to check what’s happening in his/her absence.

How Steel Keylogger Works

This software application cannot be recognized by most of the common antivirus programmes available today and, therefore, works efficiently. Actually, this version does not connect to the Internet. So, all your data will be quite safe from malicious attacks. In order to download and use Steel Keylogger, do the following:

– Steel Keylogger is available on several Torrent websites and the programme will contain two files – both below 40 KB in size. So, you can download it quickly and it will never weight too much on the system.

– Go through the Readme.txt file carefully to understand how the programme and its features work.

– To use the application, right-click on the Steel.exe file and select the option ‘Run as administrator’

– The process will task a while to install the programme.

– Once installed, the programme will display an interface with four partitions: A ‘Log Window’ that shows the keystrokes for the last 30 seconds, option to ‘Stop or Hide’ the programme, a checkbox to enabledisable logging the clipboard content and a status window.

– To use the programme, click on ‘Options’ and check both the boxes against ‘Hide on Startup’ and ‘Auto Startup’. You can also specify the location where you want to save the logs. Click on ‘Save Location’.

– Now, every time you computer is booted, the application will be activated, but it will be hidden from view.

– You can see detailed log report by using Notepad. To active the interface again, use the combination CTRL+SHIFT+F8.

  • Cosair Dominator Platinum Light Bar Upgrade Kit tutorial

The following is taken from a post from the Corsair blog, originally written Jake Crimmins on Jan 09, 2013 and is a tutorial on Upgrading Dominator® Platinum DDR3 memory with the Dominator Platinum Light Bar Upgrade Kit

Dominator Platinum Light Bar Upgrade Kit

Upgrading the Dominator® Platinum DDR3 memory with the Dominator Platinum Light Bar Upgrade Kit will let you customize your Dominator Platinum modules with a new look. A set of two modules can easily be upgraded in approximately 15 minutes. You can choose between the clear lens for a white glow or the blue lens for a blue glow.

Cosair Dominator Platinum Light Bar Upgrade Kit tutorial screenshot 1
After shutting down your machine and discharging yourself of any static, remove the modules from the motherboard. Place them on an anti-static surface. Now use the included allen wrench to remove the screws. It may help to place your finger on the back side of the module to keep the back screw from spinning.

Cosair Dominator Platinum Light Bar Upgrade Kit tutorial screenshot 2
Once you have all four screws out flip the module upside down. Now remove the top bar from the module. You want to make sure you do not damage the Corsair Link connector or any other components on the module.

Take the new top bar and place the desired lens color into it. Now reverse the process and put the top bar on the module. It works best if you leave the top bar flat on its top. Make sure not to damage the LEDs, Corsair Link connector or any other components on the module.

Now replace the all of the screws and tighten them down. Be careful to not over tighten the screws!

Finally install the modules in your motherboard and enjoy the look of your Dominator Platinum modules. If you run into any issues with installation please contact technical support @ www.corsair.com/support.

gScreen SpaceBook dual screen laptop Review

gScreen SpaceBook dual-screen laptop Review
The Gscreen Spacebook features dual 17-inch displays that slide to open side-by-side for an awesome panoramic view. This will be especially welcome by folks used to having a dual monitor setup with their desktops and feel cramped when they need to work on the go with their laptops. The displays have full HD 1920×1080 resolution and are available in either glossy or matte.

Notebooks have improved in many ways over the years from better portability to increased battery life to computing power comparable to desktops. But one area remains unchanged, a limited screen size. Larger screens generally meant a compromise on portability. But that’s all about to change with the GScreen SpaceBook. We first saw the prototype notebook almost two years ago and now it’s finally ready to hit the market.

GScreen’s CEO Gordon Stewart came up with the idea a few years back when he needed to work on a film project while in Hawaii. He realized he’d have to bring his entire desktop setup all the way from Anchorage in order to get the computing power and screen real estate he needed to work. That’s when he set out to design and build the dual screen SpaceBook laptop.

The SpaceBook comes in two models, one with Intel Core i5-560M 2.66GHz processor and 4GB of RAM for $2395, and the other with Intel Core i7-740qm quad-core 1.74Ghz processor and 8GB of RAM for $3795. Pre-orders have just begun and can be placed at the Gscreen SpaceBook product page. Source: [ Windows Team Blog]

Review of Dell Vostro A860

Full review of Dell Vostro A860

An affordable option that will fit into any budget, the Dell Vostro A860 Laptop offers great mobility and connectivity for the individual who needs a little more versatility from a work computer. Recently offered at $399 through Dell as part of a late 2008 push, theres arguably no better computer for your buck. The Vostro A860 offers three upgrade packages for more user customization. However, no unnecessary trial software is in the mix to clutter the hard drive or the desktop. The amply spaced 15.6-inch widescreen LCD display offers enough room to view multiple tasks and projects, with the ability to stream media or DVDs on the standard drive.

Dell Vostro A860 Tech Specs

The Vostro A860 comes with a lower-end Intel Celeron M processor at 2.16GHz and Vista Home Basic Service Pack 1. The optical drive offers a 24x CD Burner/DVD combo, with the option to upgrade to an 8x DVD+/-RW drive. The basic package offers users 1GB of memory, a 160GB SATA hard drive and the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100. Out of the box, the laptop is wireless capable, and includes the standard one-year basic limited warranty.

Features
Ultimately, the Vostro A860 is perfect for transitioning from a desktop to a capable laptop, catering to those in need of the technological mobility. Aesthetically, the computer offers a low-profile look, without the overly glossy finish found on many black laptops. The full keyboard allows for maximized user efficiency and comfort, and with the four-cell battery, the weight is just over 5 lbs. The only real drawback, when considering the unbeatable price, is the size and the power-pull of a four-cell Li-Ion battery. Yet, when reviewing the pros and cons, an under $400 price tag far outweighs the drawbacks to this entry-level laptop. Dell Vostro A860

Technical Specifications

  • Processor Celeron M 2.16GHz
  • Memory 1GB DDR2
  • Harddrive 160GB
  • OS Vista Basic
  • Weight 5.4lbs
  • Screen 15.4 inches
  • Screen resolution 1366x768
  • Graphic Card Intel GMA X3100
  • Battery Life 2.5 hours
